Valorant Sentinel Tier List: Cypher vs Killjoy vs Vyse Lockdown Traps
Analyzing the lockdown capabilities of Cypher, Killjoy, and Vyse in Episode 9. Trapwire placement unpredictability, Lockdown retakes, and Arc Rose flashes.
The Evolution of Site Anchoring in Episode 9
Sentinels are designed to make executing onto a bomb site as agonizing and resource-intensive as possible. In 2026, the arrival of Vyse has challenged the traditional duopoly of Cypher and Killjoy.
Sentinel Capabilities Comparison
| Agent | Trip Utility | Global Range | Primary Strength |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cypher | 2 Trapwires + Cages | Yes (Infinite) | Unbreakable flank watch & Sunset B lockdown |
| Killjoy | Alarmbot + Turret | No (40m tether) | Lockdown ultimate wins post-plant rounds |
| Vyse | Shear Wall + Razorvine | Yes (Wall trap) | Isolating duelists behind unbreachable metallic walls |
Vyse\'s Anti-Duelist Disruption
Unlike Cypher\'s wires which can be destroyed by Sova shock darts or Raze grenades, Vyse\'s Shear Wall activates dynamically when an enemy crosses, trapping the entry fragger in a 1-on-1 duel while sealing off their supporting teammates behind a solid barrier.
