Pro Off-Angle Positioning in CS2: Punishing Predictable Crosshair Placement
Why holding standard corners gets you eliminated in high elo. Creating elevation off-angles and unexpected spacing depths to break enemy pre-aim.
Why "Standard" Angles Are Fatal Against Good Players
In competitive CS2, Faceit Level 10 and pro players pre-fire standard angles through muscle memory. If you hold Mirage Ticket Booth, Inferno Pit, or Dust II Car, an attacker will swing and click your head before their brain even consciously processes your character model.
The 3 Types of Lethal Off-Angles
Stand on garbage cans, wooden pallets, or teammate boosts. Attackers pre-aim horizontally at standing head height; aiming 2 feet higher forces them into an unexpected vertical micro-correction.
Stand 4 meters away from any wall in an open corridor (e.g. Inferno Banana middle). Peeking enemies sweep their crosshairs across corner edges, looking right past you before realizing you are standing in the open.
Position where dynamic CS2 sun shadows do not betray your presence before you peek.
The Golden Rule of Off-Angles: One Frag and Reposition
Off-angles sacrifice cover for surprise. You do not have a wall to hide behind. After securing the opening frag, immediately fall back to a safe defensive position. Never re-challenge from the same off-angle twice in one half.
